Eeeeeeep! I can’t believe it’s finally HERE! I feel slightly underdressed and unprepared even though I’ve waited for this for my entire blogging existence . For those of you who may not know, SITS (or “Secret is In The Sauce”) is a wonderful community of bloggers and today they have chosen me to be their featured blogger (I’m not worthy!).
I started My Pixie Blog just over a year ago because I was mending a very broken heart. At the time, I had recently broken up with my boyfriend of six years and I was not where I expected to be in life. I had just turned 30 and it seemed like all of my friends were getting married, buying houses, and having children. I was heartbroken that I had prolonged those events indefinitely. Since I started recording this journey, my life has taken all sorts of interesting turns and this blog has transformed into something else entirely, but through it all, I have tried to remain optimistic, hopeful, and honest with myself and my feelings.
To help you get settled, I have selected a few of my favorite posts. This is around the time when I started to feel like my old self again and I discovered a love of meditation. And in this post, I danced with a handsome stranger at a Phish show and began to “feel the feelings I forgot” all over again. And here is my most scandalous blog entry to date.

So glad to read how you found yourself and your happiness after such a big breakup. It’s so hard. I went through a similar long-term let-down about 10 years ago, and today, I’m celebrating my 8th wedding anniversary to the love of my life. Not saying that the only way to end up happy is to end up happily married — not at all — but sometimes when you least expect it, love sweeps you off your feet. I certainly wasn’t looking for it when it finally found me!

I’ve only read a couple of posts, but I really like your blog. It speaks to me. I got married back in 2002 when I was only 21 years old. I really didn’t know what love was at the time, and before I knew it I was five years into an abusive marriage. He left me for another woman two years ago. It was a difficult break-up and divorce, fortunately we had not yet purchased a house or had children. But I have to say, things do get better. In February of 2009 a friend of mine for over 10 years asked me to take our friendship to the next level. This past February he proposed and now I’m in the process of wedding planning again. It’s a whole new beginning and I couldn’t be happier. I am happy that you are writing about your feelings and experiences, you are very brave to do that. I certainly was not strong enough to do that. Your words are empowering to women everywhere, keep up the good work!
