Finally Friday, y’all

Happy end-of-the-week, you guys!

I’m going to keep today’s blog post short, because it’s Friday and I’m sure you’ve checked out just as much as I have. Here’s a wee list of this week’s notables.

Things that have been grinding my gears:

• Is anyone else already sick of seeing the holiday gift guides that are surfacing all over the place? Can’t we at least make it through Thanksgiving before we start thinking of all the people we have to shop for on our list?
• CAN SOMEONE GET THE SONG “HOTLINE BLING” OUT OF MY HEAD?! It’s been three weeks and this song sucks big donkey balls. Why is this being played on the radio??
• I really don’t want to get political or stand on a soapbox (that stuff just doesn’t have a home here), but I’ve been noticing a lot of public shaming on social media, especially in light of last week’s terror attacks. Aligning yourself with one cause doesn’t mean you don’t believe in another. Lately I find it’s so hard NOT to piss people off, that I just want to go back to posting dog pictures (though as I found out, apparently that’s also a trigger. EVERYONE LET’S JUST CHILL OUT FOR FIVE).

Things that don’t suck at all:

• Lately I’ve been kicking ass and taking names where my job is concerned. This really didn’t start happening until a certain door closed which, at the time, exposed me to a lot of uncertainty. I couldn’t see beyond that. I feel like I’ve finally started to hit my stride and I’m proud to say this little company is picking up steam and yea, I’m proud of myself.
• If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I blinged out my hair AND am celebrating a new purse (to add to my obsession). (Lindsay, if you lived closer, I’d totes let you borrow it anytime!!)
• Getting to spend time with some girlfriends tonight–it has been AGES since we’ve seen each other and they’re the kinds of friends you just fall back into step with. And I love that so much about our friendship.

That’s really it. Someone stick a fork in me. And then extract that God-awful song that shall now remain nameless from my memory. XOXO
