Despite the awkward arm position (is this woman reading upside down?!), this photo and quote resonated with me this morning. I feel like I’ve been existing lately, moving from one day into the next. Bryan and I sat down after work yesterday to discuss our current situation and present-day happiness. Are we doing enough to live our best life? Is it time for us to change things up and disrupt our current status quo? I’m not sure we came to any conclusions, but the conversation was eye-opening regardless.
Truth be told, I’m feeling a bit uninspired lately and a lot frazzled. Suddenly we’re in the middle of May and looming deadlines/work stresses are getting the better of me. I’m not sure how to find a balance, but the other day I suggested to Bryan that we take some money out of our savings and treat ourselves to a much-needed vacation. It’s still on the table, so we’ll see. Let’s dive into this month’s currently list and thank Buddha for writing prompts for bloggers, right? 🙂
Thinking: about the day ahead. I have two online seminars and three phone calls, and somewhere in between those I’m going to head to Rockland to dog/housesit for my parents
Enjoying: the crunch of rice cakes / the calm before the storm
Feeling: like I desperately need a manicure and a vacation, not necessarily in that order
Wearing: a pair of jeans and a t-shirt from my elementary school—dating back to 1991! It’s so old but I’m so attached!
Needing: to figure out my life
Listening: to the sounds of running water (Bryan is in the shower), the radio, and the loud clackity clack of the keyboard
Making: a mess
Eating: Lundberg’s Caramel Corn organic rice cakes with creamy almond butter
Drinking: coffee cup #2
Are these the ramblings of a woman on the verge of a nervous breakdown?! I hope not. I actually think it’s cathartic to write these thoughts down as they come, and so I apologize if I sound a bit frazzled today. Coffee helps me human so catch me after this cup is done 😉
What’s on your currently list, and how is your week coming along?
I think it’s good to get these type of things out too. That’s great you and Bryan had a nice talk, even if you aren’t sure about the answers yet. I think a little vacation sounds lovely – sometimes you just need to get away from it all. I hope it works out! I know it’s not always easy to use money you have in savings.
I hope today’s work goes well, and that things seem a bit less frazzled soon!

I hope you guys do consider the vacation, even if it’s just a long weekend somewhere, I think it would be good for you! And I hope things calm down and even out for you a bit! Pour another cup of coffee and keep plugging away! Love you!
Sometimes I wonder about those stock photos and how they manage in life? Do they break themselves creating these epic shots? How much motrin must they consume after they get the perfect pose? Either way, I’m thankful they’re free because I am sure as shit not breaking bones doing stunts like that. Amen.
Rice cakes are amazing. I bet you don’t have dill pickled flavoured ones because America.
I am impressed that you have a shirt from elementary school. I have one from high school and the logo is peeling so I have to be gentle with it. Kind of like myself – gentle. Delicate flower.
My psych said that if you say “I’m headed for a nervous breakdown/is this a nervous breakdown” you’re not. It’s the people who don’t see it coming that actually are in it/about to have one. Food for thought with that coffee.
Love you xoxo
I love that you still have clothes from 1991! lol And that was you elementary school age while I was already married for several years Bahahahaha
We took a short vacation a few weeks ago and boy did I need it.
{hugs}

I feel like I need to figure out my life too! People think I’ve got it together – why?? But I need balance and to figure out next steps and all that jazz.
Uninspired and frazzled are exactly how I’ve been feeling lately, too. A vacation and a manicure sound lovely 🙂
I hope that you go on that vacation – it makes such a difference to have a getaway and you’ll feel so much better afterwards.
Seriously – even a day trip somewhere new can recharge your batteries and leave you feeling refreshed.
Coffee is life. Girl get yourself a mani and convince the Mr to take you away. I dont think you’re gonna break down but it’s that time of the year when you just gotta get away. Where would you want to go?!
Ugh, I have days where I just feel… unsettled. I hope that feeling goes away and you can move forward with intention… and a vacation sounds great! Also, coffee.
I have totally been in the “I want to go on vacation!” mood recently. Although I’ve yet to decide where to go. Currently thinking that we may be able to squeeze in a little trip in July or October…or maybe both if we choose strategically budget-friendly locations. 🙂
Girl I hear you on trying to figure out life and needing a vacation. I am totally there with you. I keep seeing all of these “memory” posts on Facebook and it reminds me daily where I was and where I am today. Even on days where I feel like throwing in the towel I know I am better now then I was even a year ago. Take yourself some “you” time and recharge. You got this love!
Hey momma,
I think taking a bit out of savings is a good idea for you both – I don’t know abou Bryan but you sound burnt out and need a change or something. I’m sorry things haven’t worked out on the house search…. I guess you guys had to renew your lease eh? Bummer.
We must catch up. I’m home and pet sitting this weekend and it isn’t too busy, otherwise I’m around next week. 🙂
