August. HOW IN THE HELL IS IT ALREADY AUGUST?! I’m feeling a weird sense of summer FOMO. I haven’t enjoyed it enough. Haven’t done enough fun summer activities—and I’m not sure if it’s because of the epic heat or the move but I’m hoping that this month I catch up on all the things I’ve missed out on earlier this season. Anyone else feeling the same way?
Here are some goals for July. Let’s see how I did!
Get a manicure. Schedule a haircut. – FAIL. I actually wanted to get several manicures but I didn’t see the point considering I was moving and schlepping most of the month. Now that we’re settled I can do that, and get a haircut in time for my friend’s wedding this weekend!
Finish two books – FAIL! Though I read one REALLY GOOD ONE! The Woman in Cabin 10 which I highly recommend for anyone who likes murder mysteries
Spend time outdoors and take in all the fresh air—This I have been doing. Ever since we moved to Rockaway, Bryan and I eat our dinner outdoors every night (if humidity allows!) and I have been reading outside whenever possible
Write more and with renewed passion—ehhhh, I can’t exactly cross this off. I have had moments of inspiration, but overall I felt frantic last month
Pick up the phone when people call. I am so guilty of letting calls go to voicemail but answering means I won’t have to go through my messages later and I can take care of pressing matters quickly—YES! I continue to do this and it’s nice to use a phone for something other than texting
Here are some goals for August—what’s on your list?
- Get settled in our new home—unpack boxes, clean out the old apartment, go through storage, find my llama doormat
- Sell furniture and things we have no use for in the new place
- Reevaluate my health goals—do I continue my gym membership? Should Bryan and I splurge on a Peleton?
- Do something fun and SUMMERY! Before it’s all over. Sniff!
It’s insane that it’s August already. I feel like I’ve done some fun summer things but there are definitely things that I still want to cross off my bucket list so I need to get on that! I hope you can enjoy some fun summery things this month too. Yay for reading a good book – I really loved The Woman in Cabin 10 but I still need to read more from Ware; that’s the only one I’ve read so far. I’m a big fan of thrillers/murder mysteries though!!

Enjoy these last days of summer! And good luck finding your llama mat!!
I feel you, I can’t believe it’s already August and I feel like summer is slipping away so fast. I’m trying hard to live in the moment! I hope you can find some time for summer fun! And I hope you find your llama mat, it seems like a necessity! I am going to take a cue from you and try to answer my phone instead of letting it go to voicemail also. I’m very guilty of that, I need to stop! Besides, it saves the anxiety of calling someone back, right? Love you lady! XOXO
I cannot believe it’s August. This year is going by WAY TOO FAST.
Rockaway! So that’s where you are now. My private investigator was trying to track you down but he lost the scent. Hope you’re enjoying your new home. (I passed right by you on my way back from Detroit.)
I also worry about not enjoying Summer when it’s here. Work consumes me and as Summer wanes, I regret not savoring it enough. Someday we’ll have to have a Summer BBQ together to really enjoy the season.
This year is just flying by so quickly – I cannot believe how fast it is going. I hope you are settling in nicely into your new home and that you enjoy the rest of your summer.
I know!! It’s almost over! How? It’s halfway through August right now! Help! I want to do one last big summery thing, though. I have a hotel room in Teaneck, NJ next week. Is that fun?
