On our last night in Belfast, Maine, we took a quick canoe ride out on the water to watch the sun set. This was the first time we left a vacation and felt so deeply connected to a place—Maine has that effect, I suppose ❤️

I wish we had more time in Maine, but especially in Acadia 🏞️ We did the Loop Drive and made a ton of stops— the most memorable being Cadillac Mountain and Sand Beach. Mila could have spent hours in the sand watching the waves roll in ❤️ I was freezing after about five minutes 🤣

We even bumped into @bryanholster’s sweet cousin @localtilldeth, his wonderful wife @sector9sk8r and their beautiful (and all grown up!!) kids Tighe and Delainee.

Maine will be missed, but we hope to return soon!

One of the best meals we had in downtown Belfast, Maine was at @dos_gatos_gastropub. Our waitress wasn’t kidding when she said the aioli was life changing ❤️ highly recommend the fiesta potatoes appetizer and the nachos—@bryanholster declared them the best he’s ever had and I was so excited we had leftovers except he housed them all the next day 🤣

Also our waitress was so sweet. We asked for paper so Mila could color and she did us one better and gave us a server pad so Mila could take our orders 🌮

Mila has cried every night since we returned from

Mila has cried every night since we returned from “our vacation home” in Maine, and who could blame her? It’s not every day you get to stay in a historic farmhouse on 5 acres of land with a private lake and canoe. Of all the things we did and experienced on our trip (and we did a lot), coming home to this gorgeous @airbnb was an absolute highlight for me, too. We even had three bedrooms to choose from (everyone got their own room, it was glorious). I loved all the natural light and cozy book nooks. I got a good chunk of reading done! 📚

Our hosts Martha and Patrick were so sweet and always made sure we had what we needed.

Ani DiFranco’s song “God’s Country” played on a no

Ani DiFranco’s song “God’s Country” played on a nonstop loop in my head as we took in Maine’s landscape of impressive mountains and quaint little coastal towns 🦞

The town of Belfast is a must—good coffee, sweet vibes, welcoming 🌈 flags everywhere, and the biggest swings overlooking the bay (perfect for people / boat watching and ice cream eating).

I hope to share our 5-day itinerary on the blog shortly, but in the meantime, here are some snaps and good tunes courtesy of the one and only @anidifranco. And shout out to @bluealpacaranch which was a highlight (we even got to celebrate some alpaca birthdays!).

I feel like I haven’t posted here in forever (hi 👋 remember me??). I have a post incoming about our incredible vacation in Maine and our stay in a farmhouse and all the adventures we had but right now all I got is this adorable photo of Mila’s new friend French fry 🤣 how is everyone and did you have a happy 4th?? 🧨

No one tells you that six years goes by in the blink of an eye until you have a tiny human living in your home rent free.

Mila, you make me proud when you request sushi for dinner but I don’t get K pop demon hunters. You are SO stubborn and sassy and I know you’re excited to keep up with the big kids but poppa and I just want you to stay little forever. You are losing teeth and we thought maybe you were pulling them so we told you the tooth fairy only swings one visit per month 🤣 we love listening in on your phone conversations, and are constantly amazed by the things you think and say out loud (like the word “constellation” which you read in your fancy Nancy book).

Happy birthday, Mila-Beela (tomorrow I get to listen to phish in the car again).

Took this goober to the park today because the sun was shining and the weather was sweet. He lost about five pounds of fur in the car and cried at every single human who passed him but he’s just the goodest boy. Look at that cute happy face ❤️🐶
