Good morning, my sweet friends. Wow, I really need to dust off this place a bit. It’s been almost a full month since I’ve published content to my blog. Admittedly, I’ve been a bit busy with cataract surgery (kinda’ lost my vision for a while there which was scary, but we’re all good now!), work, life, juggling schedules and figuring out childcare, and of course, my brother’s wedding in New Orleans!
It all was such a blur–we arrived late afternoon on Wednesday,11/9 and left Saturday morning, 11/12. The wedding was all day on Friday and we squeezed in a quick rehearsal, walks around the city, a delicious breakfast at a place called French Toast, a dinner with the bride/groom and friends and family, and I even managed a quick pub crawl after the wedding (Bryan tended to Mila). It was really great to spend time with everyone in one place, and funny to bump into people randomly on the streets of New Orleans. We caught up with our German relatives (I hadn’t seen them in 20+ years) and it was just a really fun time. Mila was the best flower girl ever and had a blast dancing with her cousins.
I’m going to keep today’s post super short + sweet because there are potatoes to mash and things to tend to, but I wanted to hop on quickly and wish you and yours a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful time surrounded by family and friends.
XOXO my sweet ones
PS: I tried my best to put these in chronological order.
The dinner before the big day:
Do you think my brother Dan and I look alike? Also that’s my cousin’s wife Sara on the left and her kiddos (Mila’s cousins).
And here’s my cousin Matthew, always the life of the party <3
I swear I was not high in this photo LOL
I wish I had more photos of the beautiful bride and groom but most of the pics above were sent to me (and also at some point we’ll get the profesh pictures back which will be hella nicer than these). Mila ran to the bride and groom about a million times to dance with them which super cute and I hope not annoying for them, lol. She was just SO excited.
