Good morning, my friends! Hope everyone had a nice short week and that you are looking forward to the weekend ahead. I can’t believe we’re already in September. The other day I had my therapy appointment, and I felt the sun set so much sooner and a wave of sadness washed over me the way it does each year when the sun makes its descent earlier in the day. But I welcome the cool air, the refreshing mornings, the changing leaves, all the colors of Autumn, and the spirit of the season.
Let’s dive in to this week’s gratitude, shall we?
Long weekend; I don’t get a lot of those, and I thoroughly enjoyed slower mornings and not much on the agenda
Milo is home and back to his ol’ Milo ways. If you follow me on insta, you may have seen that he recently swallowed a three-inch corn cob and had to have X-rays. He was kept overnight so the vet could look at his belly on an empty stomach. Thankfully the corn was digested enough that there was no concern for obstruction. I’m grateful we already had an appointment (seasonal allergies) and it only cost us a small fortune lol (look at that face! He’s worth it)
My favorite neighborhood health food store closed recently. I’m actually super bummed about this, because I used to frequent it when I needed fresh fruits/veggies, and things I couldn’t always find in Aldi or Trader Joe’s, but they had 75% off and I stocked up on a lot of pantry staples
Visit to the farm for local Jersey corn (see Milo and three-inch corn story above), plums, farm fresh eggs, and jam
Finally booking a flight for my brother’s wedding in November! It’s coming together and I’m very excited 🙂
Having my friend over to catch up on all the things
Buy Nothing neighborhood groups on Facebook. I’ve been able to donate so many things I no longer need and pick up things for the home this way
Taking Mila to a local playground so she could run around and go down the same slide 400 times. Side note: is it an unspoken rule that all playgrounds must bake in the sun?

So happy to read an update from you, friend. I am glad Milo is ok.
