Good morning, my sweets! Did you have a nice weekend? Today is Bryan’s first day back at work post pandemic and it feels like a strange but necessary milestone for us to reach. He’ll be in the office for two weeks and then home for four so fingers crossed he has an easy transition and that momma is able to get some things done (THANK GOODNESS my friend is coming by this week to help out).
Anyway, I’m a bit late this month (what a surprise lol) with my goals. But let’s look back on the goals I set for myself in May to see how I did.
Declutter and get rid of sh*t. <done. I mean, there’s so much left to do here but I was able to get rid of Mila’s entire 0-12 month wardrobe which alone feels like a huge accomplishment (and everything went to a new local mommy), and have sold/added some things to FB marketplace. I’ve also asked that no one purchase anymore clothes for Mila. I can count on one hand the outfits I’ve bought for her, which is great, because we received so many donations! But also it’s really difficult to manage when you’re not in charge of what’s coming in. And I don’t want a closet that’s bursting at the seams since her room is the only one that looks put together in our home lol
Spend more quality time with Mila. <I’m not sure I can fully call this a win, though I so SO wish I could. That work / life balance doesn’t exist, BUT I am trying to be more present in the moments we share together and I think that’s why I’m so excited to get out of town for a few days. I’m going to turn off work notifications and be present with my family. I think we all need that
Get my second vaccine shot, and (as my friend Susan says), slowly transition to life in 3D 🙂 <YES AND DONE! I’m slowly returning to life pre-Covid and have started seeing some friends here and there. It’s so so good, especially when your friends are family <3
Final score: 2/3; I think that’s pretty good!
Here are some short + sweet goals for June, now that we’re halfway through the month!
- Book aquarium, a potential boat ride, and figure out itinerary for Mystic. “Itinerary” sounds serious, when really I just want to Google the nearest bookshop, the ice cream place everyone is telling me to check out, and food options because that is really why I travel places (PS: would you recommend taking a sunset boat ride with a 15-month-old? Discuss)
- Do what I can. Work is insane right now, these remaining weeks in June are going to be crazy with Bryan back at work, and the childcare situation will have some bumps. I need to give myself grace if the laundry sits and dishes pile up
- Treat myself. Get a manicure (or a pedicure. Or better yet, BOTH!). Go for a long drive. Meet a friend. Do something entirely for myself without the added guilt of leaving Mila
And there you have it. What’s on your list of goals for the month? Let me know in the comments! XOXO
