I’m a bit late to the party because of course I am (#knowthyself) but HERE I AM! Don’t mind my appearance; showers are hard to come by these days and I have my hair in a half-assed braid, but you know what? The sun is shining, it’s cold AF, but I have my health and happiness and I’m feeling pretty good this morning. Little bean slept until 5 this morning (!!) and those extra hours made a huge difference. Special thanks to Beth for introducing me to Anne who hosts this fun Currently linkup! Who doesn’t love a writing prompt? Let’s dive in!
Making: banana bread. I had it in the oven by 7 this morning. Who am I?
Missing: seeing faces of my friends and family members, hugging people fiercely, eating in restaurants, drinking wine with friends. Zoom, Skype chats, and FaceTime have helped immensely, and I may have a zoom chat later this evening with my college friends–it gives me something to look forward to each week <3
Learning: this whole parenting thing. It feels like we are in the midst of the craziest Having a Baby 101 Crash Course. Some days I freak out—does Mila have a cold? What happens if she gets a fever? I read an article about first-time moms dealing with postpartum and Covid-related anxiety and depression–I feel you and I’m here for you, mommas <3 we got this
Loving: sitting out in my patio when skies are clear and the sun is shining. I made Bryan that we’d finally use the fire pit in our backyard. I want to make some s’mores and sit out with a glass of wine and just listen to the sounds of the neighborhood!
Reading: Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. So good! She wrote Little Fires Everywhere which is apparently on Hulu now and widely popular. Have you seen it/read the book?
Today I’m linking up with Anne in Residence and hope you’ll link up if you haven’t already! Let me know how your month of May is looking so far 🙂
