Good morning, friends and happy Friday. Lately I’ve been struggling–with the newness of being a mom, living through stupid Covid-19, having anxiety, not being able to have my mom here to help, my first Mother’s Day in quarantine, wondering if I’m doing the right things… It’s a strange time. But it’s a weird time for us all, and because of that, I think it’s important to keep this weekly tradition of Friday gratitude. It’s important to reflect on the little things that fill our lives with happy, dontcha’ think? I hope you’ll join and link up with Lindsay and Beth below. Look forward to reading your happy news 🙂 Let’s dive in!
Zoom call with my old college buddies to listen to an old Phish show (to be clear, our intention was to listen to a Phish stream but we caught up on life instead <3)
Warmer weather and sitting out on our patio furniture
The book Everything I Never Told You which apparently I’ve read before (per Goodreads) but I have no recollection of this. But I like it!
A socially distant photo shoot with a woman who lives at the lake (check out this sneak peek of Mila’s shoes which her poppa bought so she could match him)
A good one-month appointment for Mila. Though I epically mom failed by trying to time her feeding that morning so she wouldn’t be hungry. Sure enough she was and I didn’t bring her bottle! She yelled at me the whole time and I learned a valuable lesson that I shouldn’t leave the house without a spare bottle 🙂
My InstaCart delivery (I put in my order two weeks ago and am so excited for a fully stocked fridge! #littlethings)
Related: a week of cooking — pan fried gnocchi with spinach, chickpeas, and tomatoes; taco filled bell peppers for Cinco de Mayo; coconut peanut tofu with lemon garlic kale; vegan garlic pasta with crispy brussel sprouts.
We ate well!
Walks on warm weather days
And there you have my happy for the week. What made you smile? Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead and that you are taking care of yourselves and each other. What are you doing to celebrate Mother’s Day? Apparently we’re GETTING SNOW on Saturday, because 2020 hasn’t been challenging enough, LOL. DRINK!
