Good afternoon, My Pixie Blog readers!
As you may have noticed, I’ve taken a bit of an unintentional break—and if you follow me on social media, you may have seen why. On Tuesday, April 2nd (an early birthday present since my bday is the third… and my dad’s is the fourth!), at 9:05pm I gave birth to little Mila Marley. She weighed 6.9 lbs and has the most beautiful head of hair I’ve ever seen. We’re both completely smitten with her coos and smell and overall babyisms. She’s easy to love and, in the midst of all the world’s crazy, has added a lot of love to our tiny nest. Even Milo thinks so!
Why the name? Mila was truthfully one of the few names we both kept returning to. I had a list of about 100 names (99% of which Bryan rejected) but I asked him to write his list of favorites and Mila appeared at the top. And, in truth, we couldn’t help but think of how cute it would be to have a Mila and a Milo–they are both our babies!! And Marley because we’re both reggae lovers and thought the alliteration worked 🙂
I intend on publishing a post (likely next week) about delivering during a time of Covid-19 in case there are any soon-to-be-mommas out there who have questions (I know I did). It was an interesting experience to say the least. I was released from the hospital 36 hours after a c-section and whatever birth plans I had went straight out the window. BUT Bryan was by my side the whole time (he actually wasn’t allowed to leave my side), our baby is healthy, and we are home and safe. That is truly what is most important <3
I can’t wait to catch up with you all and hope you don’t get sick of baby photos! Xoxo and until we meet again!
