Happy Friday and day after Thanksgiving to you all! What did you do? And eat? Who did you see and celebrate with? Let me know below and don’t forget to link up with Lindsay and Beth, my cohosts at The Peaceful Posse Facebook group (we have a gratitude linky each week!). Let’s get started 🙂
Thanksgiving and all the food. It was a lot of running around (two meals and two families in one day is no joke, y’all) but nice to have lunch with Bryan’s family and dinner with my parents and aunt and uncle in town from Norway—I haven’t seen them in more than 30 years!
Related: Whole Foods and their side dishes (though I don’t recommend going there the day before Thanksgiving to pick up). I didn’t have the energy to whip together mashed potatoes this year, and maybe my family was disappointed, but WF has some amazing sides as I discovered, like butternut squash and stuffing (not vegetarian, sadly, but I heard it was delish). Oh! And their apple pie was pretty tasty, too
Mashed potatoes. They deserve an extra special mention
My new silly iPhone case (Paw N Bone has a sale going on now for 30% off sitewide, in case you know anyone as pup obsessed as I am!)
My dad’s cousin’s 70th birthday and a reunion with family I haven’t seen in some time and people I’ve never met
My wonderful friend Heather—we used to work together and she had bags of maternity clothes to gift to me. So grateful for friends who take care of me through this pregnancy!
Crockpot meals that come together in minutes; here are the ingredients for this week’s set it and forget it: 1 package tortellini, 1 small bag spinach, 2 cans of Italian-style diced tomatoes, 1 box vegetable broth, 1 block of cream cheese (chunk it up); add to crockpot and set on low for 5-6 hours. YUM!
Friends who keep me grounded (especially when family get overwhelming)
The Kind Worth Killing (which I just finished yesterday—love a book with twists and turns and this was really twisty and turny)
Still being in pajamas at 10:30 on a Friday
