This post is a collaboration with Kitchen Mama. I received three Kitchen Mama can openers—one to keep, two to giveaway—for the purposes of this review. All opinions are entirely my own.
Good morning sweet friends and how is your week coming along? Did anyone take advantage of Amazon’s overhyped Prime Day and did you get anything fun and exciting (aside from toothbrushes and detergent)? This year I grabbed a map hanger (stay tuned to my stories because a cool personalized map is on its way), a sofa cover so we don’t have a patchwork of blankets to protect against pittie zoomies in our living room, and a really pretty rug for our bedroom (to which Bryan proclaimed “I don’t understand why we need a carpet to go on top of our carpet”). Everything else I purchased is totally lame ?
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed a giveaway I recently shared for a really neat little gadget that every cook will need in his/her kitchen. Kitchen Mama is an easy-to-use, hands-free can opener that does the dirty work for you. Now you can say goodbye to manual hand grinding torture devices and bulky kitchen appliances that either take up too much room or are always hiding in impossible-to-grab cubbyholes (looking at you, automatic can opener). This cute little thing will fit just about anywhere—which is awesome since I have a very small kitchen to work in—just ask Newton. I captured his derpy little face as I was cooking dinner last night and the lighting was perfect. Also sometimes his lip gets caught in his tooth and it’s the cutest friggin’ thing ever.
One thing I really love about this can opener is that I don’t have to worry about ever chipping a nail (not that I frequently have manicures, but I just got one and can opening sometimes requires elbow grease). Since I spend a lot of time whipping up vegetarian meals in my kitchen (that often call for beans, corn, chickpeas, etc.,) I like to be as efficient as possible. I’ve used this product quite a bit over the past two weeks, and it works like a charm. You simply align the gear along the edge of the can (the magnet will hold the can opener in place), press the button, and watch it go around the can. Once it’s done, you’ll hear a soft pop at which point you press the button again to turn the device off.
Also–it leaves a soft lid! The first time I used it, I didn’t think it was done, until I carefully lifted the edge and voila. This is great for anyone who suffers from arthritis or is worried about kids in the house.
I’m giving away a Kitchen Mama can opener to one winner—simply enter the Rafflecopter below and good luck!
PS: Can you guess what we had for dinner last night? 🙂
