When I was just a wee Charlotte, I wanted to be a dancer. Maybe it was my love of Macaulay Culkin in the Nutcracker (don’t judge), but at the awkward age of 14, I had my leg on a bar in a ballet class in an attempt to look graceful (side note: it didn’t work). Over the years, I moved on to modern dance, jazz, and hip-hop. It wasn’t until I found yoga several years later when I started college, that a new love was born.
I recently found out about Tucketts, an eco-friendly/sustainable company that creates socks to move, dance, and even get your pedicures in. They attracted me for a number of reasons:
–All socks are manufactured in a factory in Colombia, which is fully engaged with the W.R.A.P. ethical principles (World Wide Responsible Apparel Production). The factory also has ISO 14001 certification in environmental management and has implemented practices that minimize waste on the environment.
–Tucketts packaging is 100% tree-free and made from post-consumer and post-industrial material.
–They are adorable!
–They are for sale at a reasonable price point.
–Every pair of socks purchased supports the work of Tuckett’s partner organization Move This World, building peace through movement as part of the Socks for Peace initiative. This helps individuals in vulnerable communities overcome fear, build trust, and develop the whole human potential.
–They provide arch support and have non-slip soles so you can feel confident in your workout.
–All socks come with a mesh bag that you can launder and carry your socks in.
And this is a brief description about the toe-less socks from their website:
Tucketts™ footwear are perfect for practitioners of barefoot activities, who are looking to gain more stability during workouts and to protect their feet while building confidence without giving up the barefoot sensation of freedom and balance.
I love the fact that the toes are free, so you protect your feet, get more stability, and balance with the grippers while still having the sensation of bare feet.
(Buster is a ham and likes to be in all of my review pictures, in case you haven’t already noticed.)
