A few weeks ago, a boutique pop-up lingerie shop made its way to Montclair, NJ, where I then hosted my very first lingerie party. I was able to see friends I hadn’t seen in ages and introduce girls who hadn’t yet met before, as we updated our wardrobes with some really adorable lingerie and jammies. A lingerie party wouldn’t be complete without a few cocktails, and despite the fact that it was early in the morning on a Saturday, I was glad my girls weren’t ashamed to kick back a few. I wish I had taken more pictures, but some of my friends are inexplicably camera shy. But I did snap this one of my friends Lillian and Nicole!
As I explained to cofounders Melissa and Laura, my evening wear mainly consists of old, hole-covered tshirts and oversized sweatpants (you know, sexy stuff). Unlike some of the other themed parties that I am occasionally invited to, this was actually one that would come in handy (my girlfriends seemed to think so, too). I think Bryan is also happy that I have finally replaced my sleepwear with this adorable–and ultra comfortable–pajama set I got in orange from Marigot.
I want to live in it forever.
I was impressed with the variety of styles they had available for all body types and the fact that the lingerie was not only comfortable but incredibly well-made. It’s hard nowadays to purchase a bra without a hefty price tag and I thought the prices at Flora Nuit on bras especially were comparable with what you’d find in the stores. Though some of the pieces were a tad on the pricey side, one could easily justify their purchase because of the quality alone (these are items you don’t just find in stores). One of the bras I purchased was actually from a German brand called Fraulein Annie, which I almost bought on sheer principle alone because that is just the best name ever.
Laura and Melissa were very helpful in sizing the girls and telling us what does/doesn’t look right and whether or not we should size up or down.
“Style and comfort are not mutually exclusive.” It’s a motto by which Flora Nuit lives by and a statement I can vouch for. I’m so glad I was asked to host this party. It was a pleasure to meet with Laura and Melissa and get a sneak peek at their traveling wardrobe.
