Last week was crazy in all the best and emotionally-charged ways. Mila turned one and I had a bit of a meltdown about it (I think we’re good now). I had a birthday (gah!! I’m 42!), so did my dad on Easter and my brother and his fiancé were in town along with Bryan’s sister. There was a lot of family time and a cranky baby and I felt a lot of bittersweet emotions about all of it that I’ll do my best to articulate in a follow-up post.
Today is about goals for April and a look back to see how I did in March. Let’s dive in!
Finish preparing for Mila’s first birthday. Done. It was a success. But, (can I admit this out loud??) I’m kind of glad it’s over. Of course I don’t want her to be one yet, but I can’t stop the hands of time and some of it stressed me out and made me sad. Sniff.
Moving right along…
Read each night. Meh, this wasn’t a win for me. Though I did finish a book which does feel like a small victory!
Make the moments matter. Yes. I did a lot of this. I had to mindfully pause and remind myself that one day I’ll look back on this time and remember that these are the good old days and I don’t want to waste them <3
Total: 2/3. I consider this a win!
Goals for April:
- Get vaccinated!!!
- Book a vacation. Thinking of an AirBNB (not sure where yet, but open to ideas if you have any recs for drivable getaway ideas, preferably within 2-3 hours). We decided to leave Milo with a sitter which makes me sad but also he’s a goober and he ruins everything 😂 love you, buddy, I promise all the walks when we get back
- Decompress. I need to get back in the swing of yoga and meditation
- Make blogging a priority again. I’ve really put it on the back burner and I’m not reading blogs like I used to. Frankly, that sucks and I’ve missed everyone
