I don’t want to mention his name here again. I can’t promise it won’t happen but today’s post isn’t about him anymore. It’s about the future; it’s about promise, hope, and the many things to look forward to with a new administration in the White House.
I understand that a transfer of power isn’t always a completely clean slate—but it’s a start. And lord knows we need it. It feels as though we haven’t had a reprieve in well, forever. I wish Biden and Kamala nothing but the best as they navigate their way around and try to clean up the dumpster fire of a mess left behind. They have a plan to move this country forward, to administer vaccines, and to help our struggling economy–now it’s up to us to come together and see to it that they succeed.
I’m excited to welcome a first family with a dog, because it shows they have the empathy and compassion to adopt. I’m happy about a First Lady who is an educator, the first female/Black + Indian Vice President, and a diverse cabinet.
And so I’ll sign off for today. I’ll be partially glued to the TV while also *attempting* to get work done. An impossible feat, I’m sure.
Happy New Day, America. ????????

Getting any work done today was hard, indeed. What a joyful day. I have so much hope again for this country.

Yay! Yesterday’s inaugural celebration was so hopeful. So inspiring. It reminded us we do have a future.

I completely agree. It’s a new day, and I’m hopeful for our future as a country. Things won’t be perfect, and Biden and Harris won’t always do things people love – they are people after all. But in the end, it’ll be a far cry from the last four years. I truly believe that.

I know everything isn’t better all of a sudden, there’s a lot of work to do still. But yesterday was so damn cathartic.
From the historic nature of it, the turning of a tide and even the music selections.
It’s a start and I’ll take it.
