Things look a little different this holiday season. I won’t be terribly sad to see 2020 come to an end, but I am walking away with some valuable lessons. If this weird year has taught me anything it’s that this too shall pass and if I don’t pause to appreciate it all now, the holidays will be over before I know it.
I don’t want that to happen.
To make the season a bit merrier, I am partnering today with the New Jersey Lottery because they are introducing four new holiday scratch-offs ($1, $2, $5 Happy Holidays, and $10 $1,000,000 Spectacular) and I can’t think of anything better for the loved ones in your life.
I used to get scratch-off tickets from my dad and I always loved to sit in a corner and scratch them (with a quarter only and always) to see if I won anything once the madness of gift opening had died down. The fun was always in the anticipation and not knowing if I had a winning ticket. I won quite a few times and would take my scratch-offs to the gas station to redeem the next morning.
These tickets are perfect last-minute gifts for anyone over the age of 18 on your Santa list—including teachers, mail carriers, friends/family members, and of course our amazing first responders. These would even make great Secret Santa/Stocking Stuffers (or White Elephant gifts, in case those are even a thing anymore).
One of the very best things about gifting lottery tickets is that you can find them in so many brick and mortar lottery retailers (like 7-Eleven, QuickCheck, Wawa, etc.). So convenient!
This year, the tickets are super festive, so they don’t even need to be wrapped. But if you’re fancy, have at it. Decorate with a cute bow, maybe some ribbon, and you got yourself a really nice gift idea for the special someone in your life that already has it all. Actually as I wrote this post, I realized I have a man in my life who literally is THE HARDEST PERSON to shop for. BOOM! You’re getting lottery tickets, buddy!
Anyway, where was I?
Oh yes. Making merry.
I think we could all use a good dose of that this year, right?
Do you know about the Million Dollar Replay? This allows VIP club members to enter eligible, non-winning scratch-off tickets into quarterly second chance drawings.

A friend of mine is sometimes gifted lottery cards. I imagine it is fun to find a winning one – even if it’s just a little bit of money. How fun!!
