*I’ve had this sitting in my drafts for over a week. I owe SO MANY OF YOU a visit and will spam you with comments soon, my loves <3 What’s the status on blogging lately? It seems like many of us are taking unintentionally long(er than usual) blog breaks, and I wonder if the future of blogging is just… different nowadays? Personally, I find that stringing words together is a harder task than ever, and I’m not sure why. Is the news of the world so heavy that it makes what we have to say pale in comparison? Are we all tired of screaming into a void? Is the future of blogging (gulp) dead as we know it? Please weigh in below, and now back to my regularly scheduled post that should have been up a week ago :)*
Bryan and I recently took Mila out for our first family outing. That is such a strange sentence to write but well, it is what it is I guess lol. We went to a local farm called Sun High Orchards in Randolph, NJ. The day was sunny, the air crisp, and I needed a day to breathe it all in and forget about life for a while. It’s hard to forget the times we are living in but there are moments of sheer bliss. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot so naturally I started to panic but there were quite a few areas away from the crowds to admire the animals and fields. The owners of the farm made a decision to shut down the orchards for apple and pumpkin picking on the weekends which was kind of a bummer but I think we’d like to return during the week when hopefully there are less people around.
Mila met her first alpacas, pig, chickens, mini donkey, and goats. She was unenthused by all of them.
Life lately is still weird but we’re adjusting to this new normal better than I expected. This past weekend we welcomed some friends over and we sat outside to catch up and discuss life for a while. I didn’t realize how much I needed it and how badly my soul yearns to connect with people in the ways I used to… but it was necessary and comforting in all the ways I’ve missed.
That’s it from here; what’s new with you? Did you watch the debates last night and are you hungover from the yelling this morning? WHAT IN THE FUCK WAS THAT? I want to watch and stay informed, but also it was a little like watching the housewives of (insert city here), but not nearly as enjoyable. Discuss.
