I want to start this post by saying that I know very little about LuLaRoe and also I am not a fashion blogger, just in case that hasn’t already been made apparent by my wardrobe faux pas over the years (fun fact: faux pas is the same both singular and plural!). That said, I like to experiment with what I wear and step outside my comfort zone whenever possible, so I was super excited when my blog friend Lauren and I each won an IG giveaway for 10 items of LuLaRoe clothing. All of it was a surprise because I don’t know what dresses everyone is wearing this summer and what the hot new legging designs are (a friend and I were joking that it might be a tossup between Skittles and giraffes).
Yesterday I had a try-on session with my LuLaRoe haul and there were some clear hits/front runners, some things I’m not quite sure what to do with, and some obvious misses. Let’s take a look!
The keeps:
Kimono (Shirley). If I were shopping and I spotted this on a rack, it would be in my cart. It’s something I would wear every day and it’s already in constant rotation in my wardrobe. I love the lightweight and breathable material, and the length is perfect for bum covering.
Final verdict: You complete me.
The everyday tee (Classic T). I wish I had 10 of these. It’s the perfect length (though personally I think it’s cuter tucked in front), super soft, and comfy. Short sleeves are great on days you are dying of heat but you haven’t shaved your arm pits (oh, like I’m the only one!).
Final verdict: want one in every color.
The casual duster (Sarah). I actually got two of these (one in dark grey, the other yellow) and they are very long and soft, but better for fall days/cold winter nights. Very versatile.
Final verdict: super cute; glad I got two!
I’m confused:
Mermaid dress (Cici). Granted, I don’t think the gladiator shoes are doing me any favors here, and maybe nude heels would have been better? I love the neckline of this dress so much and def prefer the blue to the orange (received two of these as well); I just find it so unflattering. I feel like it shows off the areas I try to hide (my tummy, mainly) so I’m not sure if it’s possible to suck it in long enough to feel comfortable. Also the material is heavy, but maybe this would be cute with a thick belt? Someone help me.
Final verdict: unless I can figure out a belt situation I’m not sure we can make these work.
Floral dress (Nicole). Uhm, so this dress was kind of suffocating and I’m not sure if it runs small or if it’s just a tighter fit than other clothes, but the pattern is cute and I can see it working for a shower or brunch.
Final verdict: Good “occasion” dress but the size may not be right for me.
Polkadot dreams (Ana). I kind of think this dress is adorable. Unlike the Cici, I found this to be very flattering and it has a seam just along the belly that doesn’t accentuate what you ate for lunch. But where can I wear this? Also… does it look dated? Be real ?
Final verdict: want to keep; feel like I’m heading to a Butter Churning Convention.
The skirt with pockets (Madison). I was sent two skirts with my order and I def prefer the pink to the blue pattern but the length is weird. I’m short as it is and think these skirts make my legs look stumpy.
Final verdict: ? (in case that doesn’t show up, it’s a thumbs down emoji. Whomp!)

Plaid dress (also Nicole). I felt schvitzy once I put this on. Too much material and the pattern was too subdued for me.
Final verdict: not sure I can make this work.
Are you familiar with LuLaRoe and what do you think of my haul? Are there any items here that you would keep? What should I toss? Lmk in the comments! Also, is the filter on these photos distracting? Trying a new preset on Vsco and not sure if I’m sold yet. TIA!
Everything is adorable, except those dresses. The first two… why do you look so lumpy? I know you are not actually lumpy, but you look like a throw pillow in those! You have such a lovely figure and none of those dresses flatter it.
The skirts, too. Unless they’re just too big? I feel like they’d be way cuter as mini skirts.
Also, I will take a pint of butter, please! LMAO!
I have two LuLa Roe dresses (Nicole and Amelia) and I have never worn them as of today.
I loved them (on other people), but when I put them on, I felt what you described above: “suffocated”. I could not see myself leaving the house with them.
The Nicole is black (so should work any day, anywhere) and the Amelia has a really cute leaf pattern… I can’t give them away either as I am hoping that one day I will put them on and want to wear them 24/7. That day has not yet come.
I love some of the fun patterns of the LuLa Roe clothes, but I don’t think I get the hype.
I do like the Madison skirt on you, I must say… maybe even better with heels?
And the classic T is great. The Cici dress is indeed a little weird.
Ok you know I know LLR pretty well because my bestie sells it, anyway, you hit it on the head pretty well. Your keepers are some of my favorite items from them, the Classic T is perfection, I absolutely love my Shirley. Sarah cardigans can be hit or miss for me due to the length, I prefer the shorter version they came out with, the Caroline. I agree on the dresses, the dress I like from them most right now is a sleevless dress called a Nicki. The others are really hard to work with sometimes. The Madison skirt is a favorite of mine but it has to fit right, the sizing can be tricky too. Overall I think the wins were big ones, the misses were misses, but how fun to get a big box of goodies like that to try on! 🙂
I really like the Kimono and the long polka dot dress.
I’m over LulaRoe because no one can ever answer any my questions about them or the clothing, so eff it. I’ve really liked some of the things Beth wears and some things I’ve seen others, as well as some od the items above, but I”m not about to hunt someone down or beg for info if it seems to be that much of a bother, ya know? All I want to see is what they have to offer and pricing. And if it’s even available in Canada, but no. So, I’m over it. And matter of fact, isn’t the retail price of some of these items a bit high?
Anyways, what an awesome haul you won. That’s pretty amazeballs. 🙂

Everything is pretty cute but the mermaid and polka dot dresses would be better if they were just…less?? lol Like they went overboard with the design and length when they started out pretty good.
What a great way to try them out though and thanks for an honest review – it can be kind of cultish the way people talk about it and nothing is ever perfect ya know??

Fashion! So happy to see you trying clothes. Fashion is my jam. BTW, I had go Google “schvitzy” to find out what you were saying. 🙂
Fun! I went through a huge leggings craze, and then loved Nicole and Amelia dresses. These days I don’t touch any of those things but do love the occasional tank or pencil skirt. And the new Nikki dresses are cute. (I’m wearing one right now)
I still love your butter churning comment – but I actually think it’s a cute dress on you. Maybe a belt would work, like you said? I think you look good in pretty much all of these, but I get why your favorites are favorites for a reason. I’d only tried certain styles from LulaRoe in the past. I really love their Perfect Ts, and I have one classic T that’s cute. I’m a big fan of the leggings, though I’m so glad when they came out with just plain black! LOL I also like the Irma tunics, but if you’re short, they go too long on you – that was my friend’s problem. I’ve tried an Amelia dress, but it was a bit too small. I need to try on all of my stuff, and hopefully I’ll like most of it. I did get a few of the really long dresses, and I’m not sure those will flatter me at all, but some of the items are super cute! Love your sweater and kimono here!

I love the first three items! I love love love the long sweater. And the kimono. That things would be on constant repeat if it were in my closet.
The churning butter comment LOL! I like the floral dress but a dress should feel comfortable and not ‘suffocating’. Some really pretty outfits 🙂
I too went trough a crazy time with purchasing a lot of Lularoe. But then I got tired mainly of the loud prints and designs that were very tacky to say the least. But then I feel like the company is coming back from the dead, and I am absolutely in love with some of their new patterns and styles. For dresses, I love the Amelia, Emily and Nicki, and I love the tunic tops such as Irmas, Perfect T, and Elizabeths. Their leggings now have better patterns, more tasteful. I feel like I took a good break from purchasing from the company, but now they won me back. Oh, I forgot to say how much I love the Randy tops as well, they are great for almost all seasons!
