Today’s blog post is not a book review (unlike this one which is about a book that will transform your life). It’s about life throwing you curveballs and unpleasant poop storms, but also little signs and acknowledgements courtesy of the universe, to show that it really does have your back. These signs come intermittently, and (as I’m realizing) when you’re grasping for straws and can’t seem to catch a break.
Last week, as Bryan and I were out house hunting, I made a comment about how funny it would be if we were to find a house in the eleventh hour. Of course, that didn’t actually happen, but what did was even weirder, in some cosmic it-had-to-happen-this-way kind of way.
Two nights ago, I sent a text message to the girl who lives downstairs to inquire about the status of her apartment. She had mentioned that she’s hoping to move to Florida this summer, but the dates hadn’t been confirmed and truthfully, I was afraid to ask. I was curious to know what she was planning on doing with her condo—despite my own misgivings about overstepping. She had plans to put it on the market this week, but was nervous about having someone sign a one-year lease—and so, we got the ball rolling. Moving downstairs on a month-to-month basis buys us valuable time to continue our search without feeling pressured to just pick a house/any house (that may have nearly happened a few times).
This all unfolded so quickly; my neighbor and I discussed the finer details of how we could work this out just yesterday—and we were able to give our landlord 30-days’ notice.
“Charlotte. This is the universe speaking to us.”
All this time, I’ve been looking for avocados and coming up empty. Who knew that the answer I was looking for was literally right under my nose?
When was the last time you felt the universe had your back?
How was your Memorial Day weekend, sweet peas? Did you enjoy some much needed time away from the hustle and grind?

Oh this is wonderful! I’m glad you worked that out and that this has bought you some much needed time! So much less stress for you!! I’m glad the Universe threw you a freaking bone finally! Love you!
Great news! That definitely will buy you guys some time, you already know her, AND it’s just downstairs- yay! So happy you finally caught a break, and are hopefully much less stressed out!
That sounds like the perfect solution to your current predicament!
It’s so wonderful when the universe opens up an opportunity you didn’t even think about!
Oh wow, that’s fantastic! It really WAS right under your nose. I’m so glad you have more time now to find the perfect house. I’m sure you did think about just settling sometimes, and that’s awesome that you now don’t have to! 🙂

I love that things seem to work out just in time! So glad you found a place you can live in that will take the stress off you while you continue to house hunt. Hope you are having a great week! <3
I’m so happy for you Charlotte! House hunting can be stressful and this takes the pressure off and buys you some breathing room to take the time you and Bryan need to find the house meant for you! I love that the universe had your back and am so glad that you found the answer you were looking for (right under your nose!) Should save you alot on moving costs lol!
Nice, I’m glad this worked out for you! It is funny how that happens sometimes. It is occasionally amazing to me how, in such a crowded world, things seem to work out for the best sometimes? I mean, how does that happen? Maybe the answer is just to accept that it does and be grateful. Maybe that’s enough lol.
Awesome post!
House selling/and buying is ALL pressure, so I’m glad you found some relief in it.
It rained SO much from the tropical storm all weekend and the past 3 days but I did get to plant a lot of flowers and took advantage of the rain watering it all in before the heat strikes. I think that’s the universe having my back! lol

Ahh, that’s serendipitous! Now you have that extra, comfortable time to find mr. or mrs. right house. I feel that way quite a bit about the universe but of course I can’t thin of any examples to put into words! They are there, though!
This is wonderful news! I love this so much. I truly believe the universe does have our backs when we least expect it. That’s the magic of it. We all get so frustrated sometimes and expect a miracle, and when we finally let it lay in Gods hands (or whomever you believe in) it works out. That kind of happened with us. We had planned to buy a house in the spring and be able to leave our apartment at the end of the lease at the end of July because we need more space with the new baby. My hubs has been looking for a new job and we just know it won’t be local, so we can’t really commit to a house before we know where he ends up. We went to look at another apartment that was bigger and also a whole lot more money, and then we realized, our house now isn’t bad at all. We have a huge yard, which is rare for a rental. We live in the country, yet are only 2 miles from downtown. Our rent is very nice considering the area we live in. My office was easily converted into half nursery, half office. It all worked out. Our landlords even worked with us giving us longer to decide on whether we wanted to stay or go. We are here one more year and now I don’t have to stress with an infant and a move in the middle of a hot summer.
This is an awesome help to your house search. Great news, Charlotte. Now that pressure will be off! Yes, I have felt the universe has my back quite a few times recently and many times in the past. I think the signs are easy to miss if we’re not paying attention though.
I’m so glad you’re not stuck scrambling for a place to live. And a month to month sounds better than the other costly alternative where you’d have to pay for how many months, whatever it took to rent your place if you needed to break your lease. I know it’ll work out in the end, it’s justntakibg a little bit longer to find your true gem. 🙂
Great news! So glad you’re able to have more time to mull it over. You don’t want to rush the home buying. Good luck!
