First things first: How was BlogHer?! Did any of you go, and if so, how was it?? Please tell a blogger starved for a convention of like-minded individuals who find comfort from the internets and connections with a cyber family. I swear, one of these days I WILL make an appearance.
How is your summer coming along? I can’t believe I just wrote a check with “August 2013” in the date field. I have no idea how we got here, but I’ll be damned if I let the rest of the summer slip away. I have been relatively busy lately, moonlighting as an online dating profile writer and trying to find comfortable gaps of warm weather and sunshine. Sadly, it’s not been the best of summers in the northeast which is making it very difficult to admit that the end of the season is just on the horizon.
Last weekend I attended a tattoo convention in Asbury Park, NJ. While Bryan got some more work done on his sleeve, I perused the various booths, picking up swag and canoodling with artists and tattooed patrons. I was enthralled and came back inspired by new designs and creative tattoo locations. I can’t wait to get my next one, but I’m sure it’ll take me some time to fully commit to a design. Here is a picture taken at the event of a woman suspended from the ceiling by back piercings. If this doesn’t make you at least a bit queasy, I salute you.
In other news, Bryan and I have booked a vacation and are heading to Ireland in the beginning of October for one week! *happy dance* I have been doing a lot of research on must-do’s, can’t misses, upcoming festivals, and musical happenings in and around Dublin. We’ll have a rental car and will be able to create our own itinerary which is perfect, because neither of us wants to rely on tour groups to get around the country. We may do one tour, however, to get to Connemara and Galway on the western part of the island. I picked up a library card this week and took out my first travel guide, but obviously I have a lot of time to map out a very light itinerary. Have any of you been? Any recommendations?
Hope all is well, my sweet ones! XOXO
